Under the student assessment scheme of the ‘ISTD’ competiton, choosing the brief
based on the topic of ‘weather’ I was tasked to create a deliverable that uses
typography. Within the topic of weather, I explored the topic from using the stories of
Demeter, the goddess of the seasons by Homer and poems from established writers
on the tale of the deity herself. Key lessons taken from this project were understanding
the value of paper, learning the practice of creating a book using the French fold
technique and how to capture the audience’s attention with mostly typography.
